Last night, I decided to follow in my good buddy Bill’s footsteps and respec to Resto. I settled on a nice 0/0/55 build. Now, it was time to start leveling that last home stretch from mid-60’s to 70 as a Tree druid running instances. I have to say, I’ve never played a Resto spec (nor Balance, so far) above level 15 or so, where you can’t even call it that.
So far, ToL healing seems pretty straightforward, and I hesitate to say so openly, easy. I only had a paltry few hundred spellpower and a decent healing spec, but I was getting HTs critting for upwards of 5k. I barely even got to really stretch my, erm, roots and use things like Wild Growth or Nature’s Swiftness.
Mana issues seem to be rare and only crop up in extended, high damage-throughput boss fights.
I ran one each of Blood Furnace and Underbog and managed to go from 64.3 to 65 in a few short hours. I also walked away with a Mindfire Waistband, Diamond-Core Sledgemace, Tunic of the Nightwatcher, and a Moonkin Headdress from a BF quest. All in all, a very productive night.
